The first scene is now in the books. Shooting is complete and the editing process has now begun. We hope to have the scene complete and ready to screen during the Ladies of the Night Double Feature on June 7th. This will be a good way to get people excited about what to expect with the upcoming Nightmare Collection Volume 2.

Shooting on the first segment is set for Wednesday May 7th at Banana Joe's in Channelside. The call for extras to play 'Bar Patrons' in the scene is currently out so if you want to be an extra in the upcoming DVD collection, come on out to Channelside on May 7th between 4pm and 5pm. Expect to be there a few hours after that.

The Necro Nancy's Final Table of Death promotion kicks off on Tax Day April 15th and runs through June 15th. Necro Nancy herself, Krista Grotte will be on hand at the June Monthly Championship Game to draw the winning ticket.

Production is underway for another Necro Nancy segment that will be filmed at Banana Joe's in Channelside. Casting is underway and the segment is tentatively set to film next month. If you are interested in being a part of the production click here to email Rick.

Here's the latest update from Rick...

I just got off the phone with the company Customflix who is encoding and replicating the DVD for us. They informed me that they are busily encoding all of the material today and tomorrow and feel they can have the first Checkdisc off to me by weeks end. They will be 2 discs as they won't do the burn to one DVD-9 until they know everything looks good. I will review everything the same night and give them the okay. Then they will send it to replication which will create the single DVD and send me a checkdisc of that overnight. They told me it should be 4 days from when I give them the okay. Once I review the final disc they will send it to replication to produce the 1000 DVDs we ordered and in 12 days I will have discs in hand.

The bulk of the DVD's will be available on line through the Customflix E-Store so we should be able to start taking orders by the end of the month therefore making it available in July as we announced earlier. A little later in July than I would have liked but from what the encoder told me, the DVD is coming along nicely and it looks great.

That means the moment we've all been waiting for is nigh!

Just a quick update on the progress for those that are curious...

Rick's informed me that the check disc should be in his hands by the end of next week, at which time he's got to go over it and make sure all the menus and stuff are working properly. Once that is done, Custom Flix will be given the greenlight to start making the actual DVDs themselves, and they should hopefully be for sale to the general public in July.

When the discs are ready we're going to be sending them out all over the place for reviews, but by the time you read it in the pages, you should already be aware how kick ass it is cause you'll have your own. How cool!

As soon as I know more, you will, too!

The time for buying is nigh! The product page is now up on Custom Flix, and you can check it out here. The disc looks like it's going to be ready by June, and then you'll be able to order it right from there. Stay tuned for more real soon!

Good news rolled down this weekend from Rick of Enigma Films. An investor has been found that is willing to fork over the cash needed to create the DVD master, as well as press the first 1,000 copies of the disc. We're going to be self-distributing this one like madmen, all we'll need is to sell all 1,000 so we can afford to get onto Volume 2. A thousand DVDs, considering the readership this site has and the press the DVD has been given in the past, should be no problem at all. We hope.

We don't have an exact release date as of yet, but June is most likely. When the DVDs are ready, they'll be for sale through a site called Custom Flix.com, who will handle all of the order-placing and free up our time for promoting the HELL out of it. And trust me, this one's going to be worth the wait. We picked some very cool films for Volume 1, and it can only get better from there!

Rick Danford, director of the project and head of Enigma Films, dropped us a line to let us know that review copies of Volume 1 are on their way to potential distributors! The copies are going out on VHS for now, and feature the prequel comic, a breakdown of the extras to be featured, all the Necor Nancy segments and, of course, the MOVIES! Keep your fingers crossed!

Now a word from Rick...

Just to get everyone up to speed with the 'Nightmare Collection' Volume 1 DVD, we have not died on the vine. The DVD is alive and well as we just struggled through some technical issues and scheduling concerns. The 'Necro Nancy' segments have been shot and will be through the editing process by this weekend. Music is being added to the segments as well as titling and then it will be ready to compile to the rest of the DVD materials which are already complete.

The 'Necro Nancy' prequel comic which tells the tale of how our 'Hostess with the Mostess' came to be has been completed and will be inked in the coming two weeks. This comic will be printed to fit inside the cover of the DVD and add a cool little extra for those who purchase the DVD.

We have many extras that will be packed into the DVD besides the extras that will come with each film such as video of the introduction by Necro Nancy herself at the 'Saints & Sinners 3 Film Festival' and some behind the scenes footage and a Photo gallery of Nancy as well.

We have been communicating with several distribution options during this time and have several companies lined up who are eagerly awaiting the finished DVD and we anticipate getting it out to them by the end of the month.

We want to thank all of you for your patience as we just want to make sure to get the best possible product out to you and make it well worth your while. Should we get the response we hope to with the initial collection we are hoping it will open the doors for future volumes which we have been getting many inquiries about already.

Kick ass new news! As part of the haunted house being put on at the Pinellas Expo Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, Rick and Necro Nancy will be on hand for the Halloween Horror Picture Show on Halloween night, showing some of the films that will be part of the Nightmare Collection (see the list here) and giving away lots of cool stuff! Wow, it's been a while, huh? Not to worry, the project is still going forward and it's actually been picking up a lot of speed in the past few weeks. We were waiting for all the extras to be submitted so the script could be written for Nancy's wrap around segments, and now that's all in place. Nancy will be shooting her stuff in the next couple of weeks, and work has already begun on the DVD packaging (click here to check out the latest look for the cover).

We're looking for a possible release date this September, but that also depends on what kind of interest we get from distributors. So far we've had a few bites and talks have taken place, so there's a good chance this disc will be out to the mass market very soon.

Keep checking back for updates, there will be a lot more in the coming weeks!

The special features that will be related to 'The Wretched' have been finalized, thought you'd like to know. You're going to see a "making of" featurette for the film and get a groovy audio commentary by the director, Martijn Smits. There's talk of Bill "Splat" Johnson getting a photo gallery, commentary, and "making of" ready for 'Don't Worry It's Only Your Imagination', we'll have more when that is set in the proverbial stone.

The day has finally come! We've narrowed down the searches, gone through the entries, debated, hemmed, and yes, even hawed about it...but the final list of films has finally been decided upon by myself, Ryan, and Rick. Three very cool pieces of news we can now officially announce: First off, we've added a third film to the roster, which is closer and closer to completion. It's called 'My Skin' and it's truly a piece of short horrific coolness. Check out the Films page for more info on that.

Secondly, Rick's been in talks with the master of the B-movie, Mr. Joe Bob Briggs, and he's agreed to contribute to Volume 1 by writing up liner notes for the insert! How cool is that?! If you aren't familiar with the man, FOR SHAME! Educate yourself here.

And finally, the Behind the Scenes section for 'Don't Worry Your Imagination' has got some brand-spankin' new pics up from the filming, check it out to get an idea what you're in for!

Okay, the deadline for submitting films has come and gone now as of yesterday. If you would still like to submit a film for consideration on Volume 1, please e-mail us here so we can consider it for either Volume 1 or Volume 2. We should, however, be announcing the full line-up of films within the next few days, so stay tuned!

Great news! We just officially signed on a new film to the DVD. It's called 'Mosnter', and it's a short film from indie filmmaker Garrett White. Essentially it's a modern-day re-telling of 'Frankenstein', just shorter. Check out more about it on our 'Films' page!

Great news! We've decided to reduce the entry fee to a paltry $10, instead of the previous amount of $25! Anyone that's already submitted to us will get a refund of their $15, so no worries there. We hope this seems more fair and encourages even more submissions into this one-of-a kind project!
